Privacy Policy

This policy covers all apps published by Cequen Software. Each app has its own section below describing exactly what that app does with data, since different apps may work differently.

General principles

Across every app we publish, we will never sell your personal data, and we will never collect more than an app's section below says it does. If an app collects no data, that means we have nothing about you to lose, share, or misuse — not just a promise not to misuse it.

If a future update to an app changes what it collects, we will update that app's section below and revise the effective date at the top of this page.

Cequen EQ

No personal data collected

Cequen EQ is an Android Automotive OS app. It has no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party SDKs, and it does not send any data to us or to anyone else.

What the app stores, and where

During setup, Cequen EQ runs a short hearing test and calculates a personalized equalizer curve from your responses. That curve, along with your test results and app settings, is stored locally on your device only (in the app's private storage), so the app can re-apply your settings the next time you drive. We have no server for this app, so this data is never transmitted to us, and we never see it. Uninstalling the app removes this data from your device; we have no way to access, back up, or restore it, because it never leaves your device.

Permissions the app uses

Cequen EQ requests a small number of Android permissions strictly to do its job as an audio equalizer — for example, permission to modify system audio settings and to run a foreground service that keeps your equalizer curve active while you drive. These permissions let the app control audio playback on your device; they do not give the app, or us, access to your personal information, contacts, location, or any other data unrelated to audio.

Third parties and children's privacy

Cequen EQ includes no third-party analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs, and shares no data with any third party. It is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children, since it does not collect personal information from any user.
